Ornamental facade University of Amsterdam

From BINX Smartility, Nedcam was commissioned to build the ornamental facade for the University Library of the University of Amsterdam (UVA). It is a timeless facade formed by letters with the phrase “Just read, it doesn’t say what it says” in 24 different languages and 6 different script forms. The sentence comes from the famous poem “Awater” by poet Martinus Nijhoff and express the use of the new building.

In cooperation with Fiberneering, the facade is fully 3D printed with the DLP (Digital Light Processing) technique and then coated with a real bronze layer by VeroMetal. A unique and durable masterpiece with special shapes that fits into the historic center of Amsterdam.
